Dr. Wagner limits his practice to prosthodontics: replacing missing teeth and restoring what surrounds them. Implant surgery is done by oral surgeons and periodontists he has worked with for years, and he designs and fits what goes on top.

Complete dentures
For patients with no remaining teeth in the upper jaw, the lower jaw, or both. The denture is built in stages: impressions, a bite record, a wax try-in you can see and approve, then the finished denture.
Tooth shade, shape, and position are chosen with you, and lip and cheek support are adjusted so the result looks like your face rather than a set of teeth.

Implant-supported dentures
Two to four implants can hold a lower denture firmly in place, which is the most common reason patients come to us unhappy with a denture they already have. Upper implant dentures can be made without the palate covered.
Options range from a removable denture that snaps onto the implants to a fixed bridge that stays in. Dr. Wagner will explain what your bone and budget make sensible.

Partial dentures
When some natural teeth remain, a partial denture replaces the missing ones and is designed so that the teeth you keep are protected, not loaded.

Immediate dentures
If teeth still need to be removed, a denture can be made in advance and placed the same day as the extractions, so you are never without teeth. It is relined or remade once the gums have healed.

Relines, repairs, and adjustments
Gums change shape over time and dentures loosen. A reline refits your existing denture. Cracks, broken teeth, and worn surfaces are repaired in the office lab. If you have a sore spot, call; adjustments are usually quick.

Maxillofacial prosthetics
Dr. Wagner trained at MD Anderson in this subspecialty. He makes obturators for patients who have lost part of the palate to cancer surgery, and prostheses for defects of the jaw and face from surgery, injury, or congenital conditions, restoring the ability to eat and speak.

Full-mouth rehabilitation
For patients whose remaining teeth, bite, and jaw joints all need attention, Dr. Wagner plans and carries out the whole reconstruction, including crowns and bridges on natural teeth and implants where they are part of the plan.

Digital dentures
Where it gives a better fit or a faster result, the office uses digital impressions and computer-designed, milled or printed dentures. Dr. Wagner has served as Chief Clinical Officer for AvaDent digital dentures and speaks on digital denture technique to other dentists and technicians.
Your first visit
- Call the office. Laura will find a time and tell you what to bring, including any dentures you have now.
- Fill out the patient forms at home, or arrive thirty minutes early to do them here.
- Dr. Wagner examines your mouth, takes x-rays, and talks through what would work and what it would cost.
- You leave with a written plan. Nothing starts until you decide.
Insurance and payment
Call the office with your insurance details and we will tell you what to expect before your appointment. Maxillofacial cases are often covered by medical rather than dental insurance, and Caryn Wagner handles those authorizations.
We see patients referred through the VA. If you are a veteran, or are covered by Medicaid or Medicare, call and ask.
